Erection Guidelines for 10 Leg Stair Tower User Information Ringlock
Notes on Safe Use of Stair Towers
The notes on this page refer to both the 10 leg and 4
Leg Stair Towers:
Before operatives can be allowed to use a Stair
Tower, make sure that the Stair Tower has been
erected properly in accordance with the following
guidelines and that it complies with the demands of
the user.
Make sure that all people who are allowed access to
the Stair Tower are aware of its function and the
maximum allowable loads.
The users of the stairs need to be aware that any
changes to the scaffold must be properly engineered
and erected in accordance with Doka and the Build-
ing Regulations for landings and stair arrangements
etc.
It is recommended that routine checks form part of
your everyday procedures to ensure that compo-
nents have not been removed or have been incor-
rectly assembled after they had been removed.
Use adequate signs and barriers to prevent people
from entering incomplete Stair Towers.
Make sure that each scaffold platform has safe
entrances and exits, and that these entrances and
exits are kept clear.
Please note that because of Building Regulations
requirements the Stair Tower is not suitable for Pub-
lic access.
