Cleaning the brake band and sprocket interior
CAUTION: Before doing any work on the guide bar or chain,
always switch off the engine and pull the plug cap off the
spark plug (see „Replacing the spark plug“). Always wear
protective gloves!
CAUTION: Start the chain saw only after having assembled
it completely and inspected.
Remove the sprocket guard (1)(See„PUTTINGINTOOPERA-
TION“gs.B) and clean the interior with a brush.
Turn the chain tensioning screw (2) to the left (counter-clockwise)
until pin (3) of the chain tensioner is underneath the threaded
pin (4).
Remove the chain (5) and guide bar (6).
NOTE:
Make sure there are no residues or foreign matter remaining in
the oil guide groove (7) or on the chain tensioner (3).

INTO OPERATION“.
NOTE:
The chain brake is a very important safety device and like
any other component subject to normal wear and tear.
Regular inspection and maintenance are important for
your own safety and must be done by a DOLMAR service
centre.

Cleaning the guide bar
CAUTION: Protective gloves must be worn.
Regularly inspect the bearing surfaces of the guide bar for
damage, and clean them with a suitable tool.
