7.7 Testing the 12 VDC Ignition Module

This section applies to D21 models only.
THIS CONNECTION IS FOR 12 VOLT
BATTERY OR DIRECT CURRENT ONLY.
DO NOT CONNECT TO 120 OR 240 VOLTS AC.

10 Testing the 12 VDC Ignition Module
1. Perform the steps in Accessing the Range
Components (on page 19) before proceeding
with service.
2. Locate the ignition module at the back of the
cooktop. See Component Locations (on page 8)
for more detail.
3. Place the volt meter on the positive terminal.
4. View the reading to confirm the voltage is within the
normal range.
5. Repeat the process for the negative terminal.
6. Any readings that fall outside of the normal range
indicate a problem with the module.
7.8 Cleaning and Clearing the
Orifice
R31 models only
11 Clearing and Cleaning the Orifice
1. Perform the steps in Accessing the Range
Components (on page 19) before proceeding
with service.
2. Remove the screws holding the burner or burner
caps.
3. Pull the burner back.
4. Remove any blockages using a toothpick.
5. Wipe the orifice with alcohol using a cotton swab.
6. Test the burner operation aer the alcohol has dried
and any fumes have dissipated.
