6. Install the gauging plastic (1) onto the connecting
rod bearing journal. Install the gauging plastic the
full width of the journal.
7. Install the connecting rod cap and bearing.
Tighten
Tighten the nuts evenly to 61 N•m (45 lb•ft).
8. Remove the connecting rod nuts.
9. Remove the connecting rod cap and bearing.
10. Measure the gauging plastic at its widest area
using the scale supplied with the plastic gauging
kit.
11. Compare the measurements to Engine Mechanical
Specifications.
