4.4 Extreme operating conditions

approved for dives at water temperatures below 10 °C
according to EN 250:2014 and meet the requirements for use
in cold water.
WARNING
When diving in low water and air temperatures, device
components may freeze up, resulting in their functions being
restricted or disrupted. When carrying an emergency lung
demand valve (Dräger Secor 7000 Octopus), it is possible to
change to Octopus in the event of a malfunction of the diving
regulator.
The following protective measures serve to considerably
reduce the risk of freezing:
Always use dry breathing air in accordance with
DIN EN 12 021:2014. The moisture content in
uncompressed air should be as follows:
for 200/232 bar devices: lower than 50 mg/m
3
and
for 300 bar devices: lower than 35 mg/m
3
.
Before diving: Press button of purge valve briefly several
times, and check if valve closes properly. Keep air
consumption to a minimum. Avoid any air loss. Do not
