    • L
      Lisa RoblesAug 25, 2025
If the yellow LED on your DSC Security System flashes 6 times, this indicates an Ethernet trouble. To resolve this, first check with your ISP to confirm that network service is active in your area. Ensure your Ethernet cable is securely inserted into both the RJ45 jack of the Communicator and the NID. Verify that the yellow LINK light on both the Communicator and the NID are ON. If the link light is OFF on the NID, try restarting it. If the problem continues, replace the Ethernet cable. If DHCP is used, ensure that the unit has been assigned an IP address from the server. Check in Panel Sections [851] and [992] to verify a valid IP address is programmed. If not, contact your network administrator.

If all the LEDs on your DSC Security System are off, it typically indicates a power issue. Check your power connections to both the Control Panel and the Communicator module. Also, make sure the PC-LINK cable is properly attached. If you have a TL265 and it's in Power Save Mode, note that only the yellow trouble LED will function; check the AC source to the Control Panel. Alternatively, the Control Panel may be in keypad blanking; press any key on the keypad to remove blanking momentarily.

If the yellow LED on your DSC Security System flashes 12 times, it means there's a module configuration trouble. This usually happens when the System Account Code or Receiver Account Code is programmed with all 0s or all Fs (e.g., FFFFFF). To fix this, check Sections [851][021], [101], and [111] to confirm the account numbers.
