CALIFORNIA EMISSION CONTROL WARRANTY STATEMENT
YOUR WARRANTY RIGHTS AND OBLIGATIONS
The California Air R esources Board ( CA R B ) and G enerac Power S yste m s, Inc. ( G enerac ) are pleased to explain the E m ission Control S yste m W arranty on
your new engine.* In California, new utility, and lawn and g arden eq uip m ent engines m ust be designed, bui lt and equipped to m eet the state’s stringent
anti-s m og standards. G enerac will warrant the e m ission control syste m on your engine for the periods of ti m e listed b elow provided there has been no
abuse, neglect, unapproved m odification or i m prop er m aintenance of your engine.
Your e m ission control syste m m ay include parts such as the carburetor, ignition syste m and exhaust syste m . G enerac will repair your engine at no cost to
you for di agnosis, replace m ent par ts and labor, should a warrantable condition occur.
MANUFACTURER’S EMISSION CONTROL SYSTEM WARRANTY COVERAGE:
E m issions control syste m s on 1995 and later m odel year engines are warranted for two years as hereinafter noted. If, during such warranty period, any
e m ission-related co m ponent or syste m on your engine is found to be defective in m aterials or work m anship, repairs or replace m ent will be per f or m ed by
a G enerac Authorized W arranty S ervice Facility.
PURCHASER’S/OWNER’S WARRANTY RESPONSIBILITIES:
As the engi ne purchaser/owner, you are responsible for the co m pletion of all required m aintenance as listed in your factory supplied O wner’s Manual. For
warranty purposes, G enerac reco mm ends that you retain all receipts covering m aintenance on your engine. H owever, G enerac cannot deny warranty solely
due to the lack of r eceipts or for your failure to ensure the co m pletion of all scheduled m aintenance.
As the engine pur chaser/owner, you should, however, be aware that G enerac m ay deny any and/or all warranty coverage or responsibility if your engine,
or a par t/co m ponent thereof, has fail ed due to abuse, ne glect , i m prop er m aintenance or unapproved m odifications, or the use of counterfeit and/or “grey
m arket” par ts not m ade, supplied or approved by G enerac.
You are responsible for contacting a Generac Authorized Warranty Service Facility as soon as a problem occurs. The warranty repairs should be
co m pleted in a rea sonable a m ount of ti m e, not to exceed 30 days.

IMPORTANT NOTE: This warranty state m ent explai ns your rights and obligations under the E m ission Control S yste m W arranty ( EC S W arranty ) , which is
provided t o you by G enerac pursuant to California law. S ee also the “ G enerac L i m ited W arrant ies for G enerac Power S yste m s, Inc.,” whic h is enclosed
herewith on a separate sheet, also provided to you by G enerac. The EC S W arranty applies only to the e m ission control syste m of your new engine. If there
is any conflict in ter m s between t he EC S W arranty and the G enerac W arranty, the EC S W arranty sha ll apply except in circu m stances where the G enerac
W arranty m ay provide a longer warranty period. Both the EC S W arranty and the G enerac W arranty d escribe i m por tant rights and obligations wit h respect
to your n ew engine.
W arranty service can be p erfor m ed only by a G enerac Authorized W arranty S ervice Facil ity. W hen requesting warranty service, evidence m ust be presented
showing the date of the sale to the original purchaser/owner.
