Mains chokes
Allocating the mains reactors is done according to the rated input 
currents of the frequency inverter (without upstream mains 
reactor).

If the frequency inverter is operating at its rated current 
limit, the maximum possible output voltage of the 
frequency inverter  (U

) is reduced to around 96 % of the 
mains voltage (U

) due the mains chokes at a u

around 4%.

Line reactors reduce the magnitude of the current 
harmonics up to about 30 % and increase the lifespan of 
frequency inverters and upstream-connected switching 
devices.
