Temperature
TemperaturevariationinfluencestheFCSby changingthepermeabilityofthePTFEmembraneandthe
Nernstianresponseofthesensor.Combinedthesechangesaccountforachangeof4%/C°.Thechange
follows the temperature, as the temperature increases the output of the sensor increases, as the
temperature drops the outpu
t drops. The FCA‐22 automatically compensates for the changes. The
temperature sensor is located in the pH sensor and it has a response time of several minutes. Rapid
changes of temperature will introduce an error until the sensor has equilibrated to the new
temperature.Calibrationshouldbedoneclosetotheprocesstemperatureforthehighestac
