8. Turn saw over, and check Brake
Band (L) for correct position on
Clutch Drum (M). If Brake Band
is not in place around Clutch
Drum, remove Bar/Clutch Cover
Nut (B) and Bar/Clutch Cover
(C), realign, then reinstall.
Tighten Bar/Clutch Cover Nut
finger tight.
9. Adjust Saw Chain (G) tension, as instructed in “Adjusting Chain
Tension”.
Improper sprocket guard assembly can result in serious injury,
and will cause severe saw damage if unit is started. Never start
or operate saw if brake band is not in place on clutch drum.
Always check chain brake operation after replacing guard. Do
not use saw if chain brake does not function properly.
Adjusting Chain Tension
Always loosen sprocket guard nuts before turning the chain tension
adjuster, otherwise the sprocket guard and tensioner will be
damaged.
1. Release the spark plug cover
latch with the T-Wrench.
2. Disconnect the spark plug wire.
3. Unlock the chain brake and
loosen Bar/Clutch Cover Nut.
