How to operate the main unit
with an optional Direct Cable
for iPod connected
An iPod can be connected to the main unit using
the optional Direct Cable for iPod (iPC- 109),
allowing you to listen to iPod music les.
It also allows you to switch operating settings to
operate some iPod functions from the main unit or
from the iPod directly.
For details on connecting the Direct Cable for iPod,
as well as settings, and other information, refer to
the OWNER’S MANUAL of the Direct Cable for iPod.
iPod is for legal or right holder-authorized copying
only. Don't steal music. iPod is a trademark of Apple
Inc., registered in the U.S. and other countries.
“Made for iPod” means that an electronic accessory
has been designed to connect speci cally to iPod
and has been certified by the developer to meet
Apple performance standards.
Apple is not responsible for the operation of this
device or its compliance with safety and regulatory
standards.
ATTENTION
The iPod will begin playing the music le it was playing
before being connected. If the main unit cannot detect
the music le that was playing previously, it will begin
playing from the rst music le.
When the iPod is connected using the optional iPod
Direct Cable, the “ECLIPSE” message will be displayed
on the iPod. The “ECLIPSE” logo will be displayed for
models other than iPod touch. While the “ECLIPSE”
message is displayed, the iPod cannot be operated
directly. To operate the iPod directly, switch the
operating settings rst.
CAUTION
Disconnect headphones and all other accessories from
the iPod before connecting the optional Direct Cable
for iPod to it. Failure to do so may make it impossible
to operate the iPod from the main unit.
If the iPod's equalizer has been customized, the sound
output may be distorted when the optional Direct
Cable for iPod is connected to it.

Connect the iPod using the optional
Direct Cable for iPod.

Press the [SOURCE/PWR] button
for less than one second. Press the
button several times, until the iPod
mode is displayed.
ATTENTION
Depending on the type of iPod (and the version),
connection may not be possible.
