Troubleshooting
Problem Possible Corrective Action
Mantle not heating
Verify that the temperature settings on the temperature controller
are correct.
Verify that the temperature controller is turned on and
operational.
Verify that the power plug is properly inserted into the controller.
Conrm that the thermocouple is appropriately positioned
(approximately 1/4" submerged) in the solution being heated.
Power failure
Verify that the power cord is correctly inserted into the controller
and that the provided electricity is appropriate and controlled.
Verify that the mantle temperature has not increased excessively,
resulting in a temperature overshoot. If it has, wait for the
temperature to drop below the high limit temperature before
pressing the reset button on the temperature controller to restart
it. Also, ensure the setpoint temperature isn't higher than the high
limit temperature.
