Overview

The Edge Tub is a recreational cold or hot tub designed for personal use, offering a range of features for temperature control, water maintenance, and user convenience. It is intended for individuals who are medically fit and aware of the risks associated with cold or hot water immersion.

Function Description:

The Edge Tub functions as a temperature-controlled immersion tub, capable of providing both cold and hot water experiences. It utilizes a Chiller unit to regulate water temperature, which can be set to a desired level using a control panel or a mobile application. The system includes components for water circulation, filtration, and sanitation to maintain water quality. The tub itself is inflatable, making it portable and relatively easy to set up and take down.

Usage Features:

  • Temperature Control: The Chiller allows users to set a desired water temperature, with the control panel displaying both the current tub temperature and the set temperature. The system can actively cool or heat the water to reach and maintain the target temperature.
  • Control Panel: A digital control panel on the Chiller provides access to various settings and indicators. Users can power the Chiller on/off, switch between Fahrenheit and Celsius units, adjust the set temperature using up and down arrows, and engage a child lock feature.
  • WiFi/App Connectivity: The Edge Tub can be connected to a mobile application (Tuya Smart app) via WiFi, allowing users to control the Chiller remotely. The app provides a control page where users can adjust the set point using a circular slider, set timing schedules for operation, and monitor the system. The WiFi indicator on the control panel shows the connection status.
  • Water Flow Monitoring: The control panel includes a water flow indicator, displaying the water flow rate in liters per minute, which is crucial for ensuring proper circulation.
  • Defrost Indicator: The Chiller features a defrost indicator to show when the unit is undergoing a defrosting cycle.
  • Compressor Status: Indicators on the control panel (flame and snowflake icons) show when the compressor is actively running for cooling or heating.
  • Inflation and Deflation: The tub is inflatable using a double-action air pump. It features an inflation valve with a cap and pin to control air intake and release. The tub should be inflated to 10 PSI. For deflation, the pump can be connected to the "Deflate" side of the pump, and the inflation valve pin should be in the depressed position.
  • Tub Cover and Locking Buckles: A lockable cover is provided for the tub, secured by four locking buckles. These buckles have a combination lock feature, which can be set by the user, with a factory preset of "00." This adds a layer of safety, especially to prevent unauthorized access by children.
  • Portability: The inflatable design and included carrying backpack make the Edge Tub portable, allowing for setup in various locations. A storage strap is provided for securing the tub when deflated.
  • Safety Warnings: The manual emphasizes consulting a medical professional before use, supervising minors, avoiding use while impaired, exercising caution with cold water to prevent hypothermia, and with hot water to prevent nausea or dizziness. It also warns against electrical hazards, such as handling outlets with wet hands or using the product with ungrounded circuits.

Maintenance Features:

  • Water Filtration System: The Chiller incorporates a water filter housing, which includes an upper and lower housing, an O-ring, and a replaceable water filter. The filter removes debris from the circulating water.
  • External Water Strainer: An external water strainer assembly, consisting of an inner water strainer, strainer O-ring, and water strainer cover, prevents debris from entering the Chiller's inlet.
  • Water Sanitation: The system requires regular water sanitation using an oxidizer and sanitizer. Initial setup involves specific doses of these chemicals, followed by a waiting period before use.
  • Weekly Maintenance Protocol: A three-step weekly maintenance routine is recommended:
    1. Check Water Chemistry: Involves adding oxidizer, waiting, and then testing water with test strips to check sanitizer levels, alkalinity, pH, and calcium. Adjustments are made based on readings.
    2. Check External Water Strainer: Requires turning off the Chiller, closing tub valves, removing the strainer cover, inspecting the inner strainer for debris, cleaning it if necessary, and checking the strainer O-ring for damage before reinstallation.
    3. Check Water Filter: Involves accessing the water filter housing, checking the filter's condition against a diagram, and replacing it if it matches the "Replace" range or if water flow issues occur. The filter housing O-ring should also be checked.
  • Three-Month Routine Maintenance: More extensive maintenance is recommended every three months for both the tub and the chiller:
    • Tub Maintenance: Disconnecting from the Chiller, draining water, washing inside and out with mild soap, rinsing, air drying, removing scuffs with a Magic Eraser, checking air pressure, and refilling with water and sanitizing.
    • Chiller Descaling: Disconnecting hoses, placing them in a bucket with a vinegar-water solution, running the Chiller in heating mode, draining, refilling with clean water, and running again.
    • Chiller Housing Maintenance: Wiping the exterior with mild soap, rinsing, and inspecting/cleaning the fan shroud.
  • Troubleshooting Guide: The manual provides detailed troubleshooting steps for common issues, such as water circulation problems (e.g., "E3" error), hose leaks, tub deflation, Chiller not turning on, water dripping from Chiller, temperature set point issues, cloudy water, difficulty packing the tub, and WiFi connectivity problems. It also lists various error codes related to temperature sensors and water flow.
  • Repair Kit: An included tub patch kit can be used to address air leaks if they occur.
