Chapter 2: Installation and configuration
LaserSense 100 Aspirating Smoke Detector Installers Handbook 27
Configuring the detector after installation
The detector programmable functions are accessed using a PC (connected to
the detector) running either the Remote or SenseNET applications.
Remote
The Remote application enables the user to set up and configure the
programmable functions of one or more detectors or command module from a
computer connected via an RS-232 serial cable. See your Remote
documentation for more information.
SenseNET
The SenseNET application is available for purchase. SenseNET
configures and
manages large networks of detector modules
from a computer connected via an
RS-232 serial cable or RS-485 converter interface.
See your SenseNET
documentation for more information.
Note: Since the detector does not include a front panel display or keypad,
programmable functions cannot be accessed via the unit itself.
Refer to ā€œConnecting to a PCā€ on page 29 of this manual for instructions on how
to connect a PC to a the detector.
