SAFETY PRECAUTIONS

Never use the brush cutter when you are tired or fatigued...

Do not operate the brush cutter when fatigued, under the influence of alcohol, drugs, or medication.

Wear appropriate clothing and safety articles...

Use protective clothing and safety gear like boots, trousers, gloves, eyewear, and helmet.

Do not allow other people to remain within 15 metres...

Maintain a minimum safety distance of 15 metres from other people during operation.

Never use the brush cutter without the blade guard or the head.

Always ensure the brush cutter is operated with the protective blade guard or head attached.

Every now and then while working, stop the engine and check the blade...

Regularly check the blade for damage and replace it if cracks or breaks are found.

Carry the brush cutter with the engine off and with the protective blade cover on (Fig. 4).

Only work when you are in a stable and secure position (Fig. 5).

Ensure a stable and secure body position while operating the brush cutter.

Never touch the blade or attempt any maintenance work while the engine is running.

Avoid any contact with the blade or performing maintenance while the engine is running.

Fill the fuel tank with the engine off and away from heat sources (Fig. 6).

Refuel the machine with the engine off, away from heat sources and without smoking.

In order to avoid hitting stones or other objects, do not cut too close to the ground.

Avoid cutting too close to the ground to prevent striking stones or other objects.

Check the brush cutter daily to be sure that components and safety devices are full functioning properly.

Perform daily checks to ensure all components and safety devices function correctly.

SAFETY PROTECTIVE CLOTHING

When working with the brushcutter, always use safety protective approved clothing.

Always wear homologated safety protective clothing when operating the brush cutter.

Safety shoes having skid-proof sole and anti-piercing insert (Fig.3).

Wear safety shoes with non-slip soles and steel toe caps for protection.

Wear protective goggles or face screens (Fig.4-5)!

Protect your eyes by wearing safety goggles or a face shield.

Use protections against noises; for example noise reduction ear guards (Fig.6) or earplugs.

Use hearing protection such as ear guards or earplugs to reduce noise exposure.

Wear gloves (Fig.7) that permit the maximum absorption of vibrations.

EXPLANATION OF SYMBOLS AND SAFETY WARNINGS

Wear strong boots and gloves when cutting with metal or plastic blades.

Be aware that objects can be thrown.

Pay attention to thrown objects during operation.

Read operator's instruction book before operating this machine.

WORK PRECAUTIONS

STARTING

FUEL MIXTURE (Fig. 16-17)

Always refuel with the engine switched off and away from naked flames (Fig.21).

Refuel the machine with the engine off and in a safe area away from any flames.

BREAKING-IN THE ENGINE

WARNING! - During the breaking-in period do not vary the carburetion...

STARTING THE ENGINE

WARNING: Once the engine is warmed up do not use the choke to start up again.

Do not use the choke to restart a warm engine; use normal starting procedure.

STOPPING THE ENGINE

Set the throttle lever to idle position (B, Fig. 32-33) and wait a few seconds to let the engine cool off.

Turn off the engine, putting the ON/OFF switch (A) in the STOP position.

WARNING: Don't try to force the screws outside the range!

WARNING: With the engine idling (2800-3000 rpm), the blade should not rotate.

WARNING: Fit the disk protection (M) p.n. 4196086...
