Connecting the Cables
You can connect the SpeedStream 5100 series modem to an existing Ethernet port on your computer. The
SpeedStream 5200 series has both Ethernet and USB port connections.

Determine the cable to use for your physical connection, and then follow the instructions below for the
appropriate installation method.
Ethernet Installation Method
To connect the SpeedStream modem via the Ethernet interface, your computer must have an Ethernet
adapter (network interface care, or “NIC”) installed. If your computer does not have this adapter, you will
need to install it before proceeding further. Refer to the Ethernet adapter documentation for complete
installation instructions.
