2.4 Biological safety precautions
• Without bio seal the centrifuge is not a biosafety system in accordance to EN61010-2-20 and
cannot be used for centrifuging hazardous materials contaminated with toxic, radioactive or
pathogenic microorganisms.
• Centrifugation of toxic or radioactive materials is prohibited.
• When handling infectious liquids and pathogenic germs, observe the national regulations, the
biosafety level of your laboratory, the material safety data sheets, and the manufacturer’s
application notes.
• Wear your personal protective equipment.
• It is the user's responsibility to carry out appropriate decontamination if hazardous material is
spilt on or inside the equipment. For comprehensive regulations about handling germs or
biological material of risk group II or higher, please refer to the ''Laboratory Biosafety Manual''
