Blind Hem Stitches
The woven blind hem is a great method of finishing a
hemline or sleeve. Finish the raw hem edge with a
zigzag or 3 step zigzag before sewing the blind hem.
Use the stretch blind hem on knit fabrics.
.
Fold up the hem allowance and press. Fold under
the hem toward right side of garment. Leave a 6.5-
10 mm (1/4” to 3/8”) extension
k
at the right
j
Wrong side of fabric.
Position the fabric so the folded edge is to the left
side of the guide
n
. Lower the presser foot. Make
sure only the zigzag catches one or two fibers of the
fold
m
.
NOTE:
If you are using the stretch blind hem ,
only the widest zigzag catches one or two fibers.
By turning the adjustment nut
o
, it is possible to
move the guide to the right or left. (The narrow zig-
zag
l
will be sewn on the single fabric layer.)
