Alternatively, set the Thermostat Mode to COOL, and ensure the COOL temperature setpoint is lower than the current room temperature. Also, check the circuit breaker for 24VAC and reset it if necessary. Verify the power switch at the HVAC system is ON and that the Rc terminal is properly connected to the R terminal with a shorting jumper wire. As an additional step, you can open the thermostat enclosure and wait 30 seconds before closing it.
