Modbus Communications
The drive’s serial communication protocol is Modbus RTU slave with a 32 bit data extension.
The Modbus protocol is available on most operator interface panels and PLC’s.
EMERSON Motion Control’s Motion Interface panels are supplied with a Modbus master
communications driver.
Multi-Drop Communications
The RS-485 option (pins 4 and 9) is provided for multi-drop configurations of up to 32 drives.
EMERSON Motion Control provides a special multi-drop serial cable which allows you to
easily connect two or more drives.
