Epsilon Eb and E Series EN Drives Reference Manual
FM-P Portable Module
The Function Module - Portable (FM-P) is a compact and rugged user interface module that
attaches to the front of the E-Series drive. It provides the operator with a convenient device
for accessing status information, setting up parameters, and control functions on any E Series
drive. One unique feature of the FM-P is its ability to copy a drive’s parameter settings and
download them into another drive. All FM-P operations can be done without the operator
having to power down the drive, including attaching and detaching the FM-P from the drive.
A 3 line by 12 character LCD (Liquid Crystal Display) and six keys are used for navigation.
The four arrow keys and two “soft keys” provide access to the FM-P menus and enable the
user to select and modify parameters, activate commands, and monitor drive parameters. The
FM-P also enables the user to display drive status and diagnostic information, and to edit
control functions, such as gains and speeds.
Note
See the FM-P Portable Module User’s Guide, P/N 400505-01, for more information.
FM-1 Speed Module
The FM-1 is a compact and rugged module that attaches to the front of the E Series drive. It
provides eight digital input lines and four digital output lines in addition to the four input and
three output lines available on the E Series drive. The FM-1 is setup using EMERSON
Motion Control’s PowerTools-FM software. PowerTools-FM is an easy-to-use Microsoft®
Windows®-based setup and diagnostics tool.
With the FM-1 installed, the base drive functions normally, with some additional features,
including eight more inputs and four more outputs. The additional major features include;
four additional Velocity presets, eight digital Torque presets, two additional Summation
modes, plus an Alternate Operating mode function.
Note
See the FM-1 Speed Module Reference Manual, P/N 400506-01, for more information.
