8. Lift the paper bail up to remove it from the slot on the both sides, and then return it to its
original position.
9. Close the printer cover.
For jammed paper remains inside the printer
If paper remains inside the printer even after performing the steps for "For jammed continuous
paper" or "For jammed single sheet paper", remove it using the following procedure.
1. Turn off the printer and open the printer cover.
2. Pull the paper bail forward and remove the ribbon cartridge. See “Replacing the ribbon
cartridge” on page 99.
3. Change the paper release lever to the tractor feeding position.
4. Remove a piece of paper that can be easily removed.
5. Change the paper release lever to the single sheet feeding position.
