AIR FILTER-INSPECTION AND REPLACEMENT
Before servicing your compressor, please let the compressor cool down. When removing parts
from the compressor, there are hot surfaces that can cause severe burns.
WARNING
Dirty air filters will bring down the compressors operating performance. Keep the air filter clean
at all times.
Remove the air filter cover.
Remove the air filter from the filter cover.
NOTE: Never operate the compressor without an air filter.
Place a new air filter into the filter cover. Refer to the “Repair Parts” for the correct part
numbers.
Replace the air filter cover and lock it into place.
MOTOR
The motor has an automatic overload protector. If the motor overheats, the overload protector
will turn the motor off. In order to restart the compressor, the motor must be allowed to cool
down first. The compressor will automatically restart after the motor cools.
If frequent shutdowns are occurring, verify that the correct voltage is supplied. Low voltage can
be suspected when:
The motor does not get up to full power or speed.
Fuses blow out when starting the motor: lights dim and remain dim when motor is
started and is running.
STORAGE
Before storing your air compressor, make sure you do the following:
Review the “Maintenance” section from the previous sections of this manual and perform
the scheduled maintenance as necessary.
Set the On/Auto/Off switch to the “OFF” position.
Adjust the regulator knob until the outlet pressure is zero.
Remove all air tools and accessories.
Pull the ring on the safety valve to allow air to bleed from the tank until the tank pressure
is approximately 20 psi. Release the safety valve ring.
Drain the water from the air tank by opening the drain valve on the bottom of the tank.
NOTE: Water will condense in the air tank. If not drained, water will corrode and
weaken the air tank causing a risk of air tank rupture.
After the water has drained, close the drain valve.
Always protect the electrical cord and air hose from damage (such as being stepped on or
run over). Wind them loosely around the compressor handle. (If so equipped)
Store the air compressor in a clean and dry location.
