This document is an instruction manual for the Euhomy Ice Maker, SKU: IM-03D. It provides comprehensive information on the device's function, usage, and maintenance, ensuring users can operate and care for their ice maker effectively.
Function Description
The Euhomy Ice Maker is designed to produce ice cubes for various uses. It operates by pumping water into an ice-making assembly where ice forms. Once the ice cubes are ready, they are transferred to an ice tray and then dropped into an ice basket. This process repeats automatically until the ice basket is full. The machine includes indicators to inform the user about its status, such as "Ice-making," "Clean," "No water," and "Ice basket full." It is equipped with a compressor and refrigerating system to facilitate the ice-making process. The ice maker is intended for household use and is not a refrigerator, meaning it does not have a heat preservation function.
Usage Features
Getting Started:
Before first use, it is crucial to unpack the appliance and check for all accessories, including the ice basket and ice scoop. The interior should be cleaned with lukewarm water and a soft cloth. The ice maker must be placed on a dry, level surface with sufficient ventilation, away from direct sunlight and heat sources. A minimum of 6 inches (15cm) space should be left around all sides for proper ventilation. After moving or transporting the unit, allow at least 2 hours for the refrigerant fluid to settle before plugging it in. The incline angle of the ice maker cabinet should not exceed 45° during transportation or use to prevent incorrect operation of the compressor or refrigerating system.
Operation:
To start ice production, ensure the drain plug at the bottom of the water reservoir is closed. Plug the ice maker into a grounded wall outlet; the "Ice-making" indicator will blink. Open the top lid, remove the ice basket, and fill the water reservoir with potable water only, ensuring not to exceed the "MAX" water level mark. Replace the ice basket and close the top lid. Press the "ON/OFF" key; the "Ice-making" indicator will light solidly. An ice-making cycle typically lasts 20-30 minutes, depending on ambient and water temperatures. The machine will automatically stop when the ice basket is full, indicated by the "Ice basket full" light. To resume, gently remove ice from the basket with the scoop, replace the basket, and close the lid. If the ice is not removed, the appliance will automatically restart after about 8 hours. If the water reservoir runs low, the "No water" indicator will flash. If connected to an external water source via a 1/4PE tube, the reservoir will automatically refill. Otherwise, the user must manually refill the reservoir. Once the desired amount of ice is made, press the "ON/OFF" key and unplug the unit. Transfer the ice to a freezer for storage, as the ice maker does not preserve ice.
Safety Precautions:
Users must follow important safety instructions to reduce the risk of fire, explosion, electric shock, or injury. Always check that the voltage matches the appliance nameplate and plug into an exclusive grounded outlet. Avoid using extension cords unless absolutely necessary, and if used, ensure they are grounded and rated appropriately. Do not operate the appliance with a damaged cord or plug. Keep the cord away from hot surfaces and out of reach of children. Do not immerse any part of the product in water or touch ice-making parts when operating. Unplug the product before cleaning, maintenance, or when not in use. Do not use microbiologically unsafe or unknown quality water. Never clean the ice maker with flammable fluids. Do not overturn the ice maker. If brought in from outside in winter, allow it to warm to room temperature before use. Never put flammable, explosive, or corrosive articles into the ice maker. Do not store or use gas or other flammable articles near the ice maker. Unplug the ice maker before moving it to avoid damaging the refrigerating system. Do not attempt to disassemble, repair, modify, or replace any part of the product. This appliance is not intended for use by persons with reduced physical, sensory, or mental capabilities, or lack of experience and knowledge unless supervised. Children should be supervised and not allowed to play with the appliance. The appliance uses flammable blowing gas and refrigerant and must be abandoned according to local regulations.
Maintenance Features
Cleaning:
Thorough cleaning is strongly recommended before first use and regularly thereafter, ideally at least once a week, especially with frequent use. Failure to clean can lead to scale accumulation, pump blockage, and product malfunction.
To clean, remove the ice basket, add water and detergent to the reservoir, then press and hold the "Clean" key for about 3 seconds. The "Clean" indicator will light up, and the appliance will enter cleaning mode. After 8 minutes, the appliance stops, and the "Clean" indicator flashes. Remove the drain tube at the back, open the drain plug, and allow the dirty water to drain completely. Close the drain plug, refill the reservoir with water, and press "Clean" again to rinse. Repeat this step until all detergent is removed. Clean the inside with a soft cloth soaked in warm water and vinegar. Rinse the drain tube and replace the drain plug. Wash the ice basket and scoop in warm, soapy water, then rinse and dry. Clean the exterior with a soft damp cloth and mild dishwashing soap.
Important: Do not use organic solvents, boiled water, strong acid, strong alkali, or harsh detergents for cleaning.
Storage:
If the ice maker will not be used for a long time, empty the water reservoir and dry it thoroughly before storage.
Troubleshooting:
The manual provides solutions for common issues:
- Indicator on (no water): Refill water and restart.
- Indicator on (water screen blocked): Remove and clean the water screen.
- Indicator on (pump malfunction/foreign objects): Send for repair or check for foreign objects.
- Indicator on (ice basket full): Remove ice and restart.
- Lights solidly flash (defrosting): The appliance will handle this automatically, or you can manually initiate a cleaning cycle and restart.
- Indicator flashes (frozen ice-making assembly): The appliance will defrost automatically. If this recurs, it may indicate refrigerant leakage, requiring professional maintenance.
- Poor ice-making result (ice broken, melts quickly): The ice-making assembly is likely frozen. The appliance will defrost automatically. If this recurs, it may indicate refrigerant leakage, requiring professional maintenance.
For issues like cloudy ice, it is recommended to use drinking or distilled water, or install a water filter kit. To address plastic smell, clean the machine with lemon water, run a few cycles, and rinse with distilled water. If water is leaking, the PUA tube inside might have fallen off during transportation; contact Euhomy for a video guide on how to reconnect it. If water flows but no ice is made, and ambient temperature is normal, it likely indicates refrigerant leakage, requiring professional assistance.
