Source Operation & Making a Plant Extract

Install the Mobile App

Download and install the Source app from your app store to monitor time, temperature, and vacuum.

Gather the Needed Supplies

List of items required for making a plant extract: glass container, plant matter, alcohol, strainer, funnel, storage container.

Make the Tincture

Combine plant matter and food-grade alcohol in a glass container and let it soak for 5-20 minutes or more.

Unscrew the Reservoir Cup

Reach inside the collector and unscrew the reservoir cup from the base. Screw lightly by hand only.

Strain and Prepare the Source

Strain tincture into reservoir cup, ready the Source by checking seals, and install the reservoir cup.

Place the Lid

Place the lid with the rubber seal facing down to create negative pressure once the Source is in operation.

Plug in and Seal the Vacuum

Plug the Source into an outlet and turn the vacuum relief screw to the right to seal the chamber.

Start the Extraction Process

Press the green button or use the app to start in Normal Mode (1 slow flash) or Turbo Mode (2 slow flashes).

Check Vacuum and Use Ice Tray

Monitor vacuum level rise via app. Use the ice tray on the lid to aid condensation and reduce pump activity.

Monitor, Decide, and Stop Extraction

Watch alcohol condensation, decide when done based on consistency, and stop the process using the button or app.

Release Vacuum and Remove Components

Release vacuum by turning the screw, allow parts to cool, then remove the extract and collect alcohol for reuse.

Care & Cleaning

Care for the Source Components

Handle glass globe carefully. Do not overtighten crucible cup. Never remove vacuum relief screw completely.

Cleaning the Source Unit

Hand wash removable parts with mild soap. Wipe the base with a damp towel; do not immerse in water.

Installing and Launching the App

Download the Source app from your store, then launch it. Confirm Bluetooth is ON on your device.

Connecting and Selecting Appliance

Tap comm icon to open dialog, refresh to find units, tap desired unit, and close screen to connect.

Using App Controls and Interpreting Data

Use app buttons to start/stop, interpret display values (Temp, Vacuum, Time), and understand connectivity cautions.
