Reviewing platform airflow information
When you install the 8400/8800 platform into a rack, it is important to
understand the unit’s airflow direction so that you can ensure proper
cooling.
Airflow for the 8400/8800 platform
The 8400/8800 platform employs a positive pressure fan system, which
blows cold air in from the right side of the chassis and exhausts hot air out
the left and back sides of the chassis, as shown in Figure 7.1.
