Installering en Veiligheid
Dit is noodsaaklik om die stappe hier onder streng te volg. Om hulle te ignoreer sal die lewensduur
van u Falcon-implement verkort en tot onnodige onkoste lei.
1. VUL DIE RATKAS MET OLIE TOT DIE KORREKTE VLAK
Vul die ratkas tot die korrekte vlak met hoëgehalte-ratkasolie. Ons beveel Fuchs Renep 1000
aan, maar EP90 kan vir byvulling gebruik word. Die Falcon F50- en F80-reeks ratkaste het ’n
peilstokkie en moet tot by die merkie daarop gevul word. Verseker dat die F50- en F80- rat-
kaste se asemgaatjies skoon gehou word om blokkasies te voorkom. Dié gaatjies is bo in die
peilstokkies geleë.
Die F25- en F40-reeks gegote-yster-ratkaste aan die ligte- en mediumdiens-implemente het
’n vulprop en ’n vlakprop. Maak albei proppe oop en vul totdat die olie by die vlakprop uitloop.
MOET NIE oorvul nie, want dit kan oorverhitting en skade aan seëls
veroorsaak.
VERSEKER DAT DIE KRAGAFTAKKERAS KORREK IS VIR U TREKKER
Die kragaftakkeras sal dalk tot die regte lengte gesny moet word om u trekker/Falcon-kombinasie
te pas. ’n Te lang as kan tot ernstige skade aan u trekker, die wentelsnyer of die kragaftakkeras
lei wanneer die implement gelig of laat sak word. As u die as egter te kort afsny, kan dit
veroorsaak dat u dit nie kan gebruik nie, of dat die as onder aandrywing kan begin vibreer, breek
of oopskeur indien die oorvleueling te kort is, kan dit die implement en trekker beskadig en die
drywer beseer. Hoe om die regte as-lengte te bereken en die as te sny word duidelik in die
kragaftakkeras-handleiding beskryf. Verwys dus asseblief na daardie handleiding (veral bladsye
39 en 97–100) voordat u die as sny.
Voordat u u trekker/Falcon-kombinasie gebruik, verseker dat die trekker
se hidrouliese 3-punt-koppelbeheer-hefboom op die regte hoogte
ingestel is, sodat die Falcon-implement nie te hoog opgelig word
nie, aangesien dit die kragaftakkeras sal beskadig. Verseker dat die
kragaftakker-omhulsel te alle tye in ‘n goeie toestand is.

Installation and Safety
It is essential that you adhere to the steps listed below. To ignore them will shorten the life of your
Falcon implement and result in unnecessary expense.
1. FILL THE GEARBOX WITH OIL TO THE CORRECT LEVEL
Fill the gearbox to the correct level with good-quality gearbox oil. We recommend Fuchs Renep
1000, but EP90 can be used for topping up. The Falcon F50 and F80 series gearboxes are tted
with a dipstick and should be lled to the mark on the dipstick. Ensure that the breather holes on
the F50 and F80 gearboxes are kept clean to avoid blockages. The breather hole is located on
top of the dipstick.
The F25 and F40 series cast-iron gearboxes used on the light- and medium-duty implements
have a ller plug and a level plug. Open both plugs and ll until the oil runs out of the level plug.
DO NOT overll, as this can cause overheating and damage to seals.
CHECK THAT THE PTO SHAFT IS CORRECTLY SUITED TO YOUR
TRACTOR
The PTO shaft may have to be cut to the correct length to suit your tractor/Falcon combination.
Too long a shaft can result in serious damage to your tractor, the slasher, or the PTO shaft when
the implement is either raised or lowered. Cutting the shaft too short may result in you not being
able to use it or, if the overlap is too short, the shaft will, when under power, start to vibrate,
break or tear open, causing damage to the implement and tractor and injury to the operator.
The process of cutting the PTO and the calculation to establish the correct length are clearly
described in the PTO manual, so please refer to this handbook, especially pages 39 and 97-100,
before cutting the PTO shaft.
Before using your tractor/Falcon combination ensure that the tractor’s
hydraulic 3-point linkage control lever is set to the correct height so that
it does not pick up the Falcon implement too high as this will result in
damage to the PTO shaft. Ensure that the PTO guard is in good order at
all times.
