Programmable keys
1. You can configure shortcuts for the programmable keys.
2. Press Menu > Basic > Keyboard, select among the
configurable items, and select your desired type and value,
press OK key.
Do not disturb
1. Press DND soft key, and enable the device do not disturb
mode.
2. Or press Menu > Features > DND, and select the Mode and
Type, and press OK key.
Voice mail
1. To access your voice mailbox, press or Menu
> Message > Voice Message, number of messages will be
indicated if provided by your server or pbx.
2. Select the line and press Play to call.
Call list
Phonebook
Access phonebook:
Add new entry:
1. Press or Dir soft key or Menu > Contact > Local
Contacts.
2. Select All Contacts or other groups.
3. To dial an entry, press Dial soft key or pickup handset
or press or .
1. Press Contact soft key, Press All Contacts or other
group > Press Add.
2. Enter name and number and press OK soft key.

Call forward
1. Press Menu > Features > Call Forward.
2. Select the line, the type of forward, enter the destination
number and status, and press OK soft key.
Call transfer
Attended transfer:
Blind transfer:
1. Press key or Xfer soft key during the active conversation,
the call is put on hold.
2. Dial the second telephone number.
1. Press key or Xfer soft key during the active conversation,
the call will be on hold.
2. Then enter the 2nd telephone number and press key
or Xfer soft key.
3. When the call is answered, then press key or Xfer soft
key to complete the operation.
Putting a call on hold
1. Press key or Hold soft key, caller is put on hold.
2. To retrieve the call press key or Resume soft key.
Note: with more than one active call, select desired call with
the navigator keys and use the corresponding soft key to
hold or resume.
Multiparty conference
1. Once in line with 1st caller, press key or Conf soft key,
1st caller is put on hold.
2. Then call the 2nd number.
3. After, 2nd call is established, press key or Conf soft key to
set up the conference.

This document provides a comprehensive guide for the Fanvil X301/X301P/X301G IP Phone, covering its installation, basic operations, and advanced features.

Device Overview and Installation

The Fanvil X301/X301P/X301G is a desktop IP phone designed for efficient communication. The packaging includes the IP Phone unit, handset, handset cord, Ethernet cable, stand, power adapter (optional), and a quick installation guide. For wall-mounted installations, a wall mount stand can be purchased separately.

To install the device, first, connect the handset to the phone using the handset cord. Next, connect the Ethernet cable to the LAN port on the phone and to your network or PC. If a power adapter is used, connect it to the power port. Finally, attach the stand to the phone for desktop use, or use the wall mount stand for wall installation. The height of the wall-mounted bracket should be less than 2 meters from the ground.

Basic Call Management

The phone offers a range of features for managing calls effectively.

  • Making a Call:
    • Pre-dialing: Enter the phone number and pick up the handset.
    • Direct Dialing: Lift the handset and enter the phone number.
    • Headset: Enter the phone number and press the headset key or dial via the screen.
    • Hands-free: Enter the phone number and press the speaker key or dial via the screen.
    • Designated Line: Press the line key, enter the phone number, and press the dial key.
  • Answering a Call:
    • Using the handset: Pick up the handset.
    • Using the headset: Press the headset key.
    • Using the hands-free: Press the speaker key.
  • Redial: Press the redial key to redial the last number.
  • Call Mute: Press the mute key to mute the microphone during a call. Press it again to unmute.
  • Putting a Call on Hold: Press the hold key or "Hold" soft key during an active call. To retrieve the call, press the hold key or "Resume" soft key. If multiple calls are active, use the navigator keys to select the desired call before holding or resuming.
  • Call Transfer:
    • Attended Transfer: During an active conversation, press the transfer key or "Xfer" soft key. The call will be put on hold. Dial the second telephone number. Once the call is answered, press the transfer key or "Xfer" soft key to complete the transfer.
    • Blind Transfer: During an active conversation, press the transfer key or "Xfer" soft key. The call will be put on hold. Enter the second telephone number and press the transfer key or "Xfer" soft key.
  • Multiparty Conference: While on a call with the first caller, press the conference key or "Conf" soft key. The first caller is put on hold. Call the second number. Once the second call is established, press the conference key or "Conf" soft key to set up the conference.

Advanced Features

The Fanvil X301/X301P/X301G offers several advanced features to enhance communication.

  • Call Forward: Access this feature via "Menu > Features > Call Forward." Select the line, the type of forward, enter the destination number and status, then press the "OK" soft key.
  • Programmable Keys: These keys can be configured for shortcuts. Go to "Menu > Basic > Keyboard," select the desired type and value for the programmable item, then press the "OK" key.
  • Do Not Disturb (DND): Press the "DND" soft key to enable DND mode. Alternatively, go to "Menu > Features > DND," select the mode and type, then press the "OK" key.
  • Voice Mail: To access your voice mailbox, press the voice mail key or go to "Menu > Message > Voice Message." The number of messages will be indicated if provided by your server or PBX. Select the line and press "Play" to call.
  • Call List: Press the call list key or go to "Menu > CallLog > Local Call Logs." Scroll through the list using the navigator keys. To dial an entry, press the "Dial" soft key, pick up the handset, or press the speaker key or headset key.
  • Phonebook:
    • Accessing the Phonebook: Press the phonebook key or "Dir" soft key, or go to "Menu > Contact > Local Contacts." Select "All Contacts" or other groups. To dial an entry, press the "Dial" soft key, pick up the handset, or press the speaker key or headset key.
    • Adding a New Entry: Press the "Contact" soft key, then "All Contacts" or another group, and then "Add." Enter the name and number, then press the "OK" soft key.

Screen Icons and Key Features

The phone's screen displays various icons indicating its status and active features:

  • Call Status Icons: "In hands-free mode," "In headset mode," "In handset mode," "Mute activated," "Silent mode," and "Call is on hold."
  • Feature Status Icons: "Auto-answering activated," "Call Forward activated," "Do not disturb activated," "SIP Hotspot activated," "VLAN activated," "VPN activated," "New SMS," "New VM Messages," "Voice Quality Level of call," "Network storm," "Keypad locked," and "Forward call(s)."
  • Network Status Icons: "Missed call(s)," "Received call(s)," "Dialed call(s)," "Internet connected," "Internet is disconnected," and "No IP address."

The phone features several soft keys and navigation keys:

  • Soft Keys: These keys change functionality based on the current context displayed on the screen.
  • Message Waiting Indicator: A light that indicates new messages.
  • Navigation Keys: Used to scroll through lists and navigate menus. The left and right navigation keys can also be configured as shortcut keys.
  • OK Key: Confirms selections.
  • Hold Key: Places an active call on hold.
  • Transfer Key: Initiates a call transfer.
  • Conference Key: Initiates a multiparty conference.
  • Phonebook Key: Accesses the phonebook.
  • Voice Messages Key: Accesses voice messages.
  • Headset Key: Activates/deactivates the headset.
  • Redial Key: Accesses the last record for redialing.
  • DND Key: Activates/deactivates silent mode or communication mode.
  • Volume Keys: Adjusts the volume during ringing or an active call.

  • Lock Key: Long press to lock the keypad. Enter the PIN to unlock (default 123).

Configuration

The phone can be configured via its LCD menu or a web interface.

  • Configuration via LCD Menu:
    • Network Settings: Go to "Menu > System > (Default password: 123)." Select "Network > Basic Settings" to configure IP mode (IPv4/IPv6).
    • Account Settings: Go to "Menu > Account" to configure the account, fill in the SIP server address, port, user name, password, etc.
    • Press "OK" to save the configuration.
  • Configuration via Web:
    • Get the IP address from the phone by pressing the "OK" key or going to "Menu > Status > ETH."
    • Enter the IP address in a web browser. The PC and phone should be in the same IP address segment. (The default username and password are both "admin.")
    • Go to "Account" or "Network" to fill in the relevant content.
    • Save the configuration.

Regulatory Compliance

The device complies with Part 15 of FCC Rules, ensuring it does not cause harmful interference and accepts any interference received. It has been tested and found to comply with Class B digital device limits. Any changes or modifications not expressly approved by the responsible party could void the user's authority to operate the equipment. The equipment also complies with Part 68 of the FCC rules and ACTA requirements. A product identifier (US: 311IPNANX303G) is located on the bottom of the equipment and must be provided to the telephone company if requested.
