This document provides a comprehensive guide to the Fanvil X3U IP Phone, covering its functions, usage, and maintenance features.
The Fanvil X3U IP Phone is designed for efficient communication, offering a range of features to manage calls, contacts, and system settings. It supports various call handling options, including call transfer, call forwarding, and conferencing, making it suitable for diverse business environments. The phone also includes programmable keys for quick access to frequently used functions and integrates with voice mail systems for message management.
The X3U offers robust call management capabilities. For attended transfer, during an active conversation, pressing the transfer key or Xfer soft key puts the current call on hold. You then dial the second telephone number. Once the second call is answered, pressing the transfer key or Xfer soft key again completes the transfer. For a blind transfer, during an active conversation, pressing the transfer key or Xfer soft key puts the call on hold. You then enter the second telephone number and press the transfer key or Xfer soft key to complete the transfer without waiting for the second party to answer.
Call forwarding can be configured by navigating to Menu > Features > Call Forward. Here, you can select the line, the type of forward (e.g., always, busy, no answer), enter the destination number, and set the status before confirming with OK.
The mute function is straightforward: press the mute key to mute the microphone during a call, and press it again to unmute.
The phone maintains a call list, accessible via the call logs key or Menu > CallLog > Local Call Logs. You can scroll through the list using the navigation keys. To dial an entry, press the Dial soft key, pick up the handset, or press the speakerphone key or headset key.
For 3-party conferencing, once you are in a call with the first party, press the conference key or Conf soft key, which puts the first caller on hold. Then, you dial the second number. After the second call is established, pressing the conference key or Conf soft key again sets up the conference.
Putting a call on hold is done by pressing the hold key or Hold soft key. To retrieve the call, press the hold key or Resume soft key. If there are multiple active calls, you can use the navigation keys to select the desired call and then use the corresponding soft key to hold or resume.
The X3U includes a phonebook for managing contacts. To access it, press the phonebook key or Contact soft key, or navigate to Menu > Dir > Local Contacts. You can select "All Contacts" or another group. To dial an entry, press the Dial soft key, pick up the handset, or press the speakerphone key or headset key.
To add a new entry to the phonebook, press the Contact soft key, then select "All Contacts" or another group, and press "Add." You then enter the name and number and confirm with the OK soft key.
The phone offers programmable keys that can be configured for shortcuts. To do this, go to Menu > Basic > Keyboard, select among the configurable items, choose your desired type and value, and press the OK key.
The redial function is activated by pressing the redial key to redial the last called number.
The Do Not Disturb (DND) feature can be enabled by pressing the DND soft key. Alternatively, you can go to Menu > Features > DND, select the Mode and Type, and press the OK soft key.
Voice mail access is provided by pressing the voice mail key or navigating to Menu > Message > Voice Message. The number of new messages will be indicated if supported by your server or PBX. To listen to messages, select the line and press "Play."
The X3U can be installed in two ways: bracket desktop installation or wall mounting. For wall mounting, a separate wall stand is required.
Connecting the device involves connecting the power adapter to the power port, the network cable to the network port (for LAN or Internet), and optionally, a PC to the PC port. The handset connects to the handset port, and a headset connects to the headset port.
Configuration via Phone involves pressing Menu > System (default password 123), then selecting Network to configure network settings (IPv4/IPv6/IPv4&IPv6, DHCP/Static/PPPoE). To configure accounts, select Accounts, enable the account, and fill in the SIP server address, port, username, and password.
