Programmable keys
1. You can configure shortcuts for the programmable keys.
2. Enter #*107 to go to the menu page > Basic > Keyboard,
select among the configurable items, and select your
desired type and value, press OK key.
Making a call
Accepting a call
1. Pre-dialing: enter the phone number and pick up the handset.
2. Direct dialing: lift the handset and enter the phone number.
3. Handsfree: enter phone number and press or vice versa.
4. Specify contact dialing:Press the specified Image DSS Key
to select the contact.
1. Using the handset: pick up the handset.
2. Using the handsfree: press .
Language setting
1. Enter #*107 to go to the menu page > Basic > Language.
2. Select the desired language and press OK soft key.
Call forward
1. Enter #*107 to go to the menu page > Features > Call Forward.
2. Select the line, the type of forward, enter the destination
number and status, and press OK soft key.
Redial
1. Press key, redial a call number.
Putting a call on hold
1. Press Hold soft key, caller is put on hold.
2. To retrieve the call press Resume soft key.
Note: with more than one active call, select desired call with
the navigator key and use the corresponding soft key to hold
or resume.
Do not disturb
Voice mail
1. To access your voice mailbox, press or Enter #*107 to
go to the menu page > Message > Voice Message, number of
messages will be indicated if provided by your server or pbx.
Select the line and press Play to call .
1. Or Enter #*107 to go to the menu page > Features > DND,
and select the Mode and Type, and press OK key.
Bluetooth
1. Enter #*107 to go to Menu > Basic > Bluetooth.
2. Press OK to enter the Bluetooth enabling screen.
After enabling the screen, press Scan to display the list of
scanned Bluetooth devices. (Press "More" to select softkey
functions, Return, Down, Scan and Link)
WiFi
1. Enter #*107 to go to Menu > Basic >WLAN.
2. Press "OK" to enter the wireless network opening screen,
and then press "Scan".The list of scanned radios is displayed.
(Select "Return", "Scan", "Down" and "OK" through "More").
3. Access an available network, select a wireless network,
(Select "Down", "Connect", "Unlink","Return","Detail" and
input method through "More").
Phonebook
Call list
Access Phonebook:
Add new entry:
1. Press the CallLog softkey or enter #*107 to go to the menu >
CallLog >Local Call Logs.
2. Scroll through the list through the ∧ / ∨ soft key.
3. To dial an entry, pickup handset or press .
1. Press Contact soft key or Enter #*107 to go to the menu page
> Contact > Local Contacts.
2. Select All Contacts or other group.
3. To dial an entry, press Dial soft key or pickup handset or
press .
1. Input the IP address in the web browser. Select
Phonebook > Contacts > Add new contact .
2. Enter the Name, Phone, and Ring of the new contact.

HELP key configuration
1. Get the IP address from the phone: Press and hold # to enter
the status bar to view the IP address
2. Login: Input the IP address in the web browser. The PC and
phone should be in the same IP address segment
(The default username and password are both ‘admin’.)
3. Configuration: Select Function Key > 433, set the type to
Dial number or Ring, then click Binding. You need to press
the KT20(transmitter module need buy separately) during
the configuration process. Then the phone and the
transmitter will be automatically connected, and the Addr ID
of the transmitter will be automatically matched on the web page.
4. Enter the number you want to call as the value and click Apply.
5.Press the KT20 and the X305 will ring or dial automatically.

Device Overview

The Fanvil X305 is an IP phone designed for communication, offering various features for making and receiving calls, managing contacts, and integrating with network services. It comes with essential components such as the IP Phone unit, Handset, Handset Cord, Ethernet Cable, and a Quick Installation Guide. Optional accessories like a Stand, Power Adapter, and Wall Stand (purchased separately) are also available to enhance its usability and placement flexibility.

Installation and Setup

The installation process for the Fanvil X305 is straightforward, with options for both desktop and wall-mounted setups. For desktop installation, the handset cord connects to the handset port, and the Ethernet cable connects to the LAN port. The power adapter (if used) connects to the DC 5V port. For wall mounting, an optional wall stand is required, and the phone is secured to the wall, with cables routed appropriately.

Connecting the device to the network and power involves several steps. First, the power adapter (if used) connects to the DC 5V port. Alternatively, the phone supports Power over Ethernet (PoE), where a single Ethernet cable provides both power and data. A USB port is available for connecting USB flash drives. The handset connects to the handset port, and the Ethernet cable connects to a network port (LAN) or directly to a computer (PC).

Initial configuration of the phone can be done via the menu or a web browser. To access the menu, users can press specific key combinations like "#*107". The menu allows configuration of system settings, network settings (DHCP, Static IP), SIP account details (proxy server, port, username, password), and other preferences. For web configuration, the phone's IP address is entered into a web browser. The PC and phone must be in the same IP address segment. Default credentials (username and password are "admin") are used for login. The web interface provides comprehensive options for configuring network accounts, SIP settings, and other advanced features.

Call Management and Features

The Fanvil X305 offers a wide range of call management features to enhance communication efficiency.

Making Calls:

  • Pre-dialing: Users can enter the phone number first and then pick up the handset.
  • Direct dialing: Lift the handset and then enter the phone number.
  • Handsfree: Enter the phone number and press the handsfree key, or vice versa.
  • Specify contact dialing: Press a pre-configured DSS Key to dial a contact directly.

Accepting Calls:

  • Using the handset: Simply pick up the handset.
  • Using the handsfree: Press the handsfree key.

Redial:

  • Press the redial key to redial the last called number.

Putting a Call on Hold:

  • Press the "Hold" soft key to place the current caller on hold.
  • To retrieve the call, press the "Resume" soft key.
  • If multiple calls are active, the navigator keys can be used to select the desired call, and the corresponding soft key can be used to hold or resume it.

Call Forward:

  • This feature allows users to redirect incoming calls to another number. It can be configured via the menu by selecting "Features" > "Call Forward," choosing the line and type of forward, entering the destination number, and confirming with the "OK" soft key.

Call List:

  • The phone maintains a log of local calls. Users can access this by pressing the "CallLog" soft key or navigating through the menu to "CallLog" > "Local Call Logs."
  • The list can be scrolled using the navigator keys. To dial an entry, users can pick up the handset or press the handsfree key.

Advanced Features

The Fanvil X305 includes several advanced features that extend its functionality beyond basic calling.

Programmable Keys:

  • The phone features programmable keys that can be configured as shortcuts for various functions. This is done via the menu under "Basic" > "Keyboard," where users can select configurable items, define their type and value, and save the settings.

Do Not Disturb (DND):

  • The DND feature allows users to block incoming calls. It can be activated via the menu under "Features" > "DND," where users select the mode and type, and confirm with "OK."

Voice Mail:

  • Users can access their voice mailbox by pressing the voice mail key or navigating through the menu to "Message" > "Voice Message." The number of messages, if provided by the server or PBX, will be indicated. Users can select the line and press "Play" to listen to messages.

Bluetooth:

  • The phone supports Bluetooth connectivity. To enable Bluetooth, navigate to "Menu" > "Basic" > "Bluetooth" and press "OK." After enabling, users can press "Scan" to display a list of scanned Bluetooth devices. Additional softkey functions like "Return," "Down," "Scan," and "Link" are available.

WiFi:

  • The Fanvil X305 also supports WiFi connectivity. To access this, navigate to "Menu" > "Basic" > "WLAN" and press "OK" to enter the wireless network opening screen. Press "Scan" to display a list of available wireless networks. Users can select "Return," "Scan," "Down," and "OK" through "More" to manage options. To connect to an available network, users select the network, choose "Connect," and input the necessary credentials.

Phonebook:

  • The phone includes a local phonebook for storing contacts.
  • Accessing Phonebook: Users can press the "Contact" soft key or navigate to "Menu" > "Contact" > "Local Contacts." They can select "All Contacts" or other groups. To dial an entry, users press the "Dial" soft key or pick up the handset.
  • Adding New Entry: New contacts can be added via the web browser. Navigate to "Phonebook" > "Contacts" > "Add new contact." Users then enter the Name, Phone, and Ring details for the new contact.

The phone's screen provides various icons to indicate its status and active features:

Screen Icons:

  • Handset in hands-free mode: Indicates the handset is off-hook but the speakerphone is active.
  • In handset mode: Indicates the handset is off-hook.
  • Mute activated: Microphone is muted.
  • Silent mode: Phone is in silent mode.
  • Call in hold: A call is currently on hold.
  • Auto-answering activated: Automatic answering of calls is enabled.
  • Call Forward activated: Calls are being forwarded.
  • Do not disturb activated (Red): DND is active.
  • SIP Hotspot activated: SIP hotspot feature is enabled.
  • WLAN activated: WiFi is active.
  • VPN activated: VPN connection is active.
  • Bluetooth device paired connection: A Bluetooth device is connected.
  • New SMS: A new Short Message Service message has been received.
  • New VM Messages: New voice mail messages are available.
  • Voice quality level of call: Indicates the quality of the ongoing call.
  • Keypad locked: Keypad is locked.
  • Forward call(s): Indicates calls are being forwarded.
  • Missed call(s): Indicates missed calls.
  • Received call(s): Indicates received calls.
  • Dialed call(s): Indicates dialed calls.
  • Internet connected: Phone is connected to the internet.
  • Internet is disconnected: Phone is disconnected from the internet.
  • No IP address: Phone does not have an IP address.
  • Wireless network connected: Connected to a wireless network.
  • Wireless network disconnected: Disconnected from a wireless network.
  • Wireless network failure: Wireless network connection has failed.

Keys and Indicators:

  • Image DSS keys: These are programmable keys with customizable functions.
  • Soft keys: Context-sensitive keys whose functions change based on the current screen or menu.
  • Message waiting indicator: A light that blinks to indicate new voice mail messages.
  • Volume key: Used to increase or decrease the ringer volume during idle or ringing, or the speaker/handset/hands-free volume during a call. The left (-) side decreases volume, and the right (+) side increases volume.
  • Redial key: Press to redial the last call.
  • Menu key: Press and hold to enter the status bar to view the IP address.
