  If your First Alert Portable Radio isn't turning on, it could be due to a low built-in rechargeable battery and exhausted 'AAA' batteries. Recharge the built-in battery and replace all three 'AAA' batteries with fresh ones. Alternatively, the unit might be busy charging your portable device. In this case, wait for the charging to finish or unplug your device, wait 10-15 seconds, and then try turning the radio on.

  If you experience no or low sound from your First Alert Portable Radio after powering it on, consider the following: * Check the VOLUME control to ensure it is not set to the minimum. Adjust it as needed. * Make sure the station is properly tuned. * If the FM reception is weak, extend and rotate the telescopic antenna. * For weak AM reception, try relocating the position of the radio. * Also, ensure the unit is not in Weather Alert Mode; select AM, FM, or WB mode as desired.
