Connect the GND terminal to your central station ground. Make connection first.
Connect HF antenna or dummy load to the BNC ANTENNA port.
Connect 13.8V DC power supply to the 13.8 VDC jack. Do not power up yet.
Connect CW paddles, keyer, or straight key to the KEY jack.
Connect microphone/PTT to the RJ-45 MIC jack.
Connect headphones or powered speakers to the PHONES jack.
Connect the USB cable from the transceiver to your computer's USB port.
Run the FlexRadio Installer Wizard to install PowerSDR and drivers.
Accept license, choose destination, and confirm installation settings.
Follow the FlexRadio Driver Setup Wizard to install the FireWire driver.
Finalize PowerSDR v2.x installation, which may require a computer restart.
Power up the FLEX-1500 to allow the operating system to install necessary drivers.

Launch PowerSDR, run optimization, and complete the setup wizard.
Set up the FLEX-1500 Audio Mixer for MIC and Phones input/output.
Set the Receive and Transmit Antenna to PA in the Antenna Selection window.
Optimize USB driver buffer control for performance on the Setup/General/Options form.
Click the Start button in PowerSDR to begin operating the FLEX-1500.
