- When installed in swimming pools, small lakes and fountains, the pump must always be connected to an automatic safety switch (FI)
with a nominal dispersion current  30 mA, in conformation with that provided in DIN VDE 0100- 702 e 0100-738. Please consult your
trusted electrician.
- The electric and extension cables must not have a section inferior to 1.5mm ² (H07 RN-F). The plug and the connections must be
protected from sprays of water. Any extensions must be consistent with that provided in DIN VDE 0620.-
- In Austria, in compliance with the dispositions of OVE-EM 42, T2 (2000) /1979 paragraph 2022,1, pumps for swimming pools and
small lakes with fixed connections must be supplied with a certified resonating transformer.
- In Switzerland all electrical equipment used in the open air must be connected to a automatic emergency switch.
- Absolutely avoid the dry running of the pump, as the lack water may cause overheating. In such cases the water inside of the system
will reach very high temperatures with the danger of scalding. It becomes necessary, therefore, to remove the plug and leave the
system to cool down.
Chap. 2 Restriction in use
The FLOTEC ERGON range of automatic electro-pumps are ideal for domestic use: pumping of clear water from shafts and
reservoirs etc, watering of the garden, irrigation systems and for supplying domestic consumption water systems with the use of rain
water. The pump may only be used with clean liquids, not aggressive, with no solid particles in suspension. Sand or other abrasive
substances present in the liquid pumped can provoke a deterioration of the pump reducing its performances.
If the pump is used in order to increase pressure, pay attention to not exceed the maximum permitted which is equal to 6 bars.
Keep in mind that the start pressure to be increased and that of the pump are added together. • Example: system pressure equal
system to 1,5 bars + max. pressure ERGON 5000 pump equal to 3,0 bars = total pressure: 4,5 bars.
The pump is not suitable for the pumping of salt water, inflammable, corrosive, explosive or dangerous liquids
The dry running of the pump is to be avoided at all costs.

Chap. 3 Electric connections
Ensure that the voltage and the frequency correspond to that of the supply network available.
It is the responsibility of the installer to ensure that the electrical supply system is equipped with an
adequate earthing system in accordance with the governing regulations.
It is necessary to check that the electrical supply system is equipped with a highly sensitive
differential circuit breaker Ä =30 mA (DIN VDE 0100T739)
Protection against overload
The FLOTEC ERGON range of pumps have an incorporated thermal motor protector. If there should be an overload the pump will
stop. After cooling the motor will restart automatically. (For causes and relative remedies see troubleshooting point 3).The electrical
