What to do if the Flow Safe F8000 main valve leaks through the outlet?
    • M
      Micheal GrimesAug 14, 2025
If the main valve on your Flow Safe Control Unit is leaking through the outlet, it could be due to: * Damage or contamination on the piston seat, main valve nozzle, piston seal/sealing surface, or lower liner seal/sealing surface. Disassemble the valve, remove the piston and liner, and examine the seat, seals, and sealing surfaces under magnification. Replace damaged parts or clean contaminated parts before reinstalling. * The dome is not loading properly through the pilot. See “The main valve does not close” for troubleshooting steps.

How to fix a Flow Safe F8000 Control Unit main valve that won't open?
    • R
      Richard PonceAug 21, 2025
If the main valve on your Flow Safe Control Unit isn't opening, consider the following: * The pilot valve inlet tubing might be plugged. Clean or unplug the line. * There may be contamination between the piston and liner. Disassemble the valve and examine the surfaces. Clean or replace parts as necessary, and determine the origin of the contamination within the system. Clean the system or provide filtration. * The inlet line could be blocked. Clear the blockage in a safe manner. * The outlet line might be blocked. Clear the blockage in a safe manner. * The pilot valve could be plugged. Disassemble and clean the pilot assembly. * The set pressure might be increased due to an auxiliary setter. Add the auxiliary setter differential to the set pressure.

How to stop a Flow Safe Control Unit main valve from leaking around the cap?
    • H
      Harold MooreAug 29, 2025
If the main valve on your Flow Safe Control Unit is leaking around the cap, it could be due to: * Inadequate or uneven bolt torque. Retighten the cap bolts per Section 3.2. * A damaged sealing surface on the cap. Repair the defect or replace the cap. * A damaged, contaminated, or improperly seated upper liner seal. Replace damaged seals with new ones. If contaminated, clean and reinstall with light, even pressure in the groove.

Why is my Flow Safe F8000 Control Unit main valve not closing?
    • L
      Lindsay GutierrezNov 5, 2025
The main valve on your Flow Safe Control Unit might not be closing due to several reasons: * There could be an obstruction in the pilot valve or tubing/filter from the main valve inlet. Try to clean or unplug it. * A field test connection or tube fitting could be leaking. Tighten the FTC jam nut and replace the seal, and tighten all fittings. * If you have an F200 pilot, the bushing might be too far into the body. Back it out and check for proper blowdown. * For an F300, the proportional band screw might be inserted too far, restricting dome pressurization. Back out the band screw until dome pressure is able to load through the pilot. * The pilot diaphragm could be leaking. Disassemble the pilot valve, remove and inspect the diaphragm, and replace it if needed. * The pickup tu...
