What to do if the Flow Safe F7000 Control Unit main valve leaks through the outlet?
    • J
      James MosleyAug 11, 2025
If the main valve of your Flow Safe Control Unit is leaking through the outlet, it could be due to damage or contamination on the piston seat, main valve nozzle, piston seal/sealing surface, or lower liner seal/sealing surface. Disassemble the valve, remove the piston and liner, and examine the seat, seals, and sealing surfaces under magnification. If damaged, replace with new parts; if contaminated, clean and reinstall. Alternatively, the dome might not be loading properly through the pilot.

How to fix a Flow Safe Control Unit main valve that won't open?
    • A
      Amanda AllenAug 19, 2025
If the main valve on your Flow Safe Control Unit isn't opening, check if the pilot valve inlet tubing is plugged. Another cause could be contamination between the piston and liner. Also, the inlet or outlet line might be blocked. Disassemble valve and examine surfaces, clean or replace parts as necessary and clear blockage in a safe manner. The pilot valve itself could be plugged, so disassemble and clean the pilot assembly. Finally, increased set pressure due to an auxiliary setter could be the problem; add the auxiliary setter differential to the set pressure.

How to stop a Flow Safe F7000 main valve from leaking around the cap?
    • M
      Mark StricklandAug 27, 2025
If the main valve on your Flow Safe Control Unit is leaking around the cap, it could be due to inadequate or uneven bolt torque. Retighten the cap bolts. Another cause might be a damaged sealing surface on the cap; repair the defect or replace the cap. The upper liner seal could also be damaged, contaminated, or not properly seated. If damaged, replace it with a new seal. If contaminated, clean and reinstall with light, even pressure in the groove.

Why is my Flow Safe F7000 Control Unit main valve not closing?
    • M
      Micheal RussellNov 2, 2025
The main valve on your Flow Safe Control Unit might not be closing due to several reasons: there could be an obstruction in the pilot valve or tubing/filter from the main valve inlet. The field test connection or tube fitting might be leaking. On an F200 pilot, the bushing may be too far into the body, or on an F300 pilot, the proportional band screw might be inserted too far. The pilot diaphragm could be leaking, the pickup tube might be oriented incorrectly, damaged, or plugged, or the manual blowdown valve may be left open. Excessive system debris could be interfering with the pilot or main valve seats/seals, the piston or liner seal could be leaking, or the outlet piping could be obstructed or too small. Suggested solutions include cleaning/unplugging obstructions, tightening fittings,...
