Why my Follett REF does not maintain temperature?

  If your Follett Refrigerator is running but not maintaining the correct temperature, consider the following: * The condenser or evaporator coil may need cleaning. * The door gasket might be faulty and require replacement. * The ambient temperature could be too high (the maximum recommended ambient temperature is 100 degrees F). Additionally, there may be a refrigerant leak, incorrect refrigerant charge or a plugged capillary tube. In the first two cases locate and repair the leak or recover, evacuate and weigh in correct charge. If the issue persists, consult technical service, as the compressor might be inefficient.

  If your Follett Refrigerator isn't running, first, ensure the power switch is in the ON position and check all connections. Then, verify the refrigerator is properly plugged into a working outlet and that there is power to the cord. If these steps don't resolve the issue, the temperature controller may not be energizing the components, or the probe might not be sensing the cut-in temperature. In this case, check the controller contact terminals for power and consider replacing the controller and/or probe.

  If the compressor in your Follett Refrigerator isn't running, it could be due to a thermal overload, a defective capacitor or relay, or a defective compressor. Allow the thermal overload to cool or replace it if defective. Replace the capacitor and/or relay as needed. If the compressor is defective, it will need to be replaced.

  If your Follett Refrigerator doesn't shut off, the controller might not be sensing the cut-off temperature or the controller may be keeping the refrigeration system energized. In this case, replace the controller and/or probe or just the controller.
