WARNING!
Operating the equipment incorrectly can cause serious injury and damage.
Do not use the functions described until you have thoroughly read and understood the fol-
lowing documents:

► all the operating instructions for the system components, especially the safety rules
The wire-feed unit is commissioned by pressing the torch trigger (for manual applications)
or by means of a welding start-up signal (for automatic applications).
REQUIREMENTS When commissioning the wire-feed unit, the following requirements must be met:
- Wirefeeder connected to the power source using the interconnecting hosepack
- Welding torch connected to the wirefeeder
- Feed rollers inserted into the wirefeeder
- Wirespool or basket-type spool and adapter inserted in the wirefeeder
- Wire electrode fed in
- Feed roller contact pressure set
- Brake adjusted
- All covers closed, all side panels in place, all protection devices intact and in their
proper place
Additional requirement for automated applications in conjunction with external wire elec-
trodes:
- Insulated routing of wire electrode to wire-feed unit
