TEST G - AIR HEATER
1. Set HLZ series up for testing 9.3.1.
2. Measure air heater resistance by connecting one meter lead to terminal 4 (white wires) on
the latching relay and the other meter lead to the bottom white wire on the air heater relay.
Correct reading is:
a. 208V heater: 22 (±4) ohms.

b. 240V heater: 29 (±4) ohms.
TEST H - SOLID STATE RELAYS (Air Heater and Plate Heater Relays)
1. Set HLZ series up for testing 9.3.1.
2. Turn computer ON.
With the computer calling for heat (light on):
a. Measure voltage across terminals 3 and 4 of the solid state relay.

b. Correct reading is 10 (±2)VDC.
4. Disconnect power to the unit.
5. Disconnect wires from the output side of the solid state relay.
6. Reconnect power to the unit.
With computer calling for heat (light on):
a. Measure resistance across the relay output terminals.
7.
b. Correct reading is approximately 1000 ohms.
8. Disconnect power to the unit.
9. Reconnect wires disconnected in step 5.
