2.1.3 Setting the Host Responses
The host response parameters for the ETERNUS DX must be set to match the way the server processes the
responses to requests from the
ETERNUS DX. Setting the host response must be done before connecting the
ETERNUS DX to the server.
Set the parameters that are described below for each OS.
Retain the default values for all of the parameters that are not described below.

2.1.4 Setting the CA Port Groups
Create new SAS port groups and register the ports as members of the groups. A SAS port group is a group of
SAS-CA type ports that are connected to the specified host group. Configure the host affinity setting for each
SAS port group.
2.1.5 Registering the SAS Addresses of the Accessing SAS Cards (Setting SAS Host)
Register the SAS addresses of the SAS cards installed in each server that will access the ETERNUS DX. At the
same time, set the host response registered in "
2.1.3 Setting the Host Responses" (page 9) to accept these
SAS hosts (SAS addresses).
Registering the SAS hosts (SAS addresses) and setting up Host Affinities as described elsewhere, allows limits
to be set on which servers are allowed to access which ETERNUS DX storage systems.
When a server-side SAS card is replaced, the SAS address of the replacement SAS card must be re-regis-
tered to the ETERNUS DX.
1 Connect the SAS card that is installed in the server to the
ETERNUS DX with the SAS cable.
2 Turn on the ETERNUS DX.
3 Turn on the server, and start the OS.
4 Acquire the SAS address of HBA from each port in the [Setup SAS Host] screen of ETERNUS Web GUI.
