Status indicators Description
Wireless comp onents indica tor
The indicator is lit: The wireless components are switched on.
The indicator is not lit: The wireless components are switched off.
Power-on indicator/Standby

The indicator is lit: The notebook is switched on.
The indicator ashes: The n
otebook is in st andby mode.
The indicator is not lit: The notebook is switched off.
Battery charging in dicator/powe r connector
The state of charge of the battery is sh own by the batter y indicator.
Without the mains adapter connected:
Indicator is off: The system is in battery operation.
With mains adapter connected:
The indicator is illuminated (orange): Th e battery is charging.
Indicator is white: The battery is fully charged.
Indicator ashes a shes orange and white alternately: a fault has
occurred. The battery cannot be recharged.
Indicator is off: There is no battery installed.

Drive indicator

Indicator is illuminated: One of the drives (e.g. hard disk, optical drive) is
being accessed.
Num Lock indicator

keypad is activated. You can output the characters indicated on the upper
right of the keys.
Caps Lock in dicat or

The indicator is lit: The Caps Lock key has been pressed. All t he characters
you t ype will appear in upper case. In the case of overlay keys, the
character printed on the upper left of the key will appear when that ke y
is pressed.
Switching on the notebook
Open the LCD screen.

Press the ON/OFF switch for about one
second to switch th e n otebook on.
The power-on indicator is lit.
