Maintaining Your Camera
Follow these simple tips to keep your camera clean and functioning at peak performance:
Just like with mirrors, you will need to clean the camera lens periodically. Use lens wipes to gently
clean the camera lens as needed.
Your camera system comes with a lens cap. When using the camera, remove this lens and keep in a
safe place. It is recommended that this cap be placed on the camera lens when the camera is
not in use.
Just like with mirror alignment, it may occasionally be necessary to correct the camera offset if the
camera is bumped or jostled. Follow the “Correcting Offset Camera Calibration” instructions below.
Camera: 3D Camera Calibration
Muse 3D can detect the height of the material using the camera features. It is possible, however, that
the height calibration can be jarred out of alignment. To check height calibration, follow these
instructions:
1. Power on Machine: Power on your Muse Unit and verify all the connections.
2. Align laser: Go through the alignment process to ensure that the laser and red diode are
aligned. If the laser is out of alignment, the recalibration process will not be effective and have
to be repeated.
3. Remove Honeycomb and mat
erials:
Carefully take out the honeycomb and any materials and
set it aside.
4. Place calibration sheet on bottom plate:
Take your laminated c
alibration sheet and place it
on the bottom plate of the machine. Make sure the sheet is perf
ectly
flat and not damaged. Use
clear tape if necessary
, but take care not to cover the printed patter
n. Locate the sheet equally
with respect to the left and right of the bottom plate. The bottom edge of the calibration sheet
should also sit approx
imately 0
.5” to 1” away from the black edge of the bottom plate

Pay close attention to the orientation of the calibration sheet. It
will not work if rotated 180 degrees.
5. Close the lid: Close the lid of the machine.
6. Verify no jobs: Ensure that there are no jobs actively on your machine or remove the water supply
from the machine so that the machine will not cut the calibration sheet. If the calibration sheet is
damaged, the recalibration process may not be effective.
7. Enter tools tab: Touch the Tools tab on the LCD screen of your machine.
Pay Close attention to the orientation of the calibration sheet. Camera Calibration will not
work if orientation is incorrect.
