EXCAVATOR “A-TRACTION”
T E Z A
to the specific engine instruction manual supplied
with the machine.
Approximately every 8 hours: check and adjust
engine oil level. Furthermore, check and clean, the
engine oil filter. Change engine oil every 50 hours.
5.3 MACHINE MAINTENANCE
Periodically, perform full-washing of the machine
and thoroughly clean all parts. If a system of hi-
ghpressure washing is used, check that the engine
does not get wet and none of the working parts are
damaged.
After each wash, it is necessary to lubricate all
parts subject to friction.
CAUTION
Annex 2 on page 29, shows the maintenance
register. All interventions must be registered.
5.3.1 AFTER THE FIRST 8 HOURS
During the initial period of the machine’s lifetime, it
will undergo a general adjustment of the various
mechanical parts, it is therefore essential to carry
out checks on the machine with the highest accu-
racy.
Each new machine then, must be checked after
the first 8 hours of operation, taking care to verify:
- the tightness of all nuts and bolts;
- the correct oil level in the hydraulic oil tank;
- absence of leakage of oil from the hydraulic com-
ponents;
- correct lubrication of components where there is
motion or rotation;
- that the parts match the requirements established
by the Manufacturing company. Only use original
spare parts.
5.4 ROUTINE MAINTENANCE
OPERATIONS
EVERY 8 HOURS:
- Grease lubrication points on the machine (6 and
7 Fig. 10).
In greasing operations, only use a manual grease
pump, to avoid breaking the seals of the bearings
and pipes passing through the grease.
Use EP2 grease or equivalent.
CAUTION
Before injecting grease in the lubricators, u-
sers must carefully clean the grease fittings to
prevent mud, dust or foreign bodies from
mixing with the lubricant, decreasing, or even
cancelling the effect of lubrication.
Check the oil level of the hydraulic oil tank, if insuf-
ficient, restore.
To check the oil level of the tank, it is necessary:
- To check the oil level through the control window
(3 Fig. 10). The correct level must be in the middle
of the window. Top-ups must be done through the
filler cap (1 Fig. 10) placed on top of the tank.
Tighten the cap when the operation is complete.
5.5 CHAIN TENSIONING
To tighten the chain, the user must:
- Place the excavating arm so that the chain is pa-
rallel to the ground. Check the chain tension by
applying a medium force on the chain which
should deflect approximately 2-3 cm.
- If the chain is too tight:
- Loosen the nut (1 Fig. 11) a few turns.
- Loosen the screw (2 Fig. 11) until the desired
chain tension is achieved.
- Tighten the nut (1 Fig. 11) until it locks.
- If the chain is too loose:
- Loosen the nut (1 Fig. 11) a few turns.
- Tighten the screw (2 Fig. 11) until the desired

When the index exceeds 1.5 bar, the filter cartri-
dge inside (located under the cap) must be re-
placed.

correct level must correspond to the centre line
of the control window).
