1.5 MACHINE DESCRIPTION
The «A-Traction» Trencher produced by the GAR-
BIN GROUP Srl, is an «EC» marked machine in
accordance with the regulations of the European
Union described in the EC Directives:
- Directive 2006/42/EC and subsequent modifica-
tions and (Machine directive).
- 2000/14/EC and subsequent modifications imple-
mented in Italy by Legislative Decree no. 262/2002,
in accordance with the procedure laid down in An-
nex V.
- 2004/108/EC (EMC Directive).
as shown in the statement of compliance with
which each machine is equipped.
This machine has been designed to be used on
construction, road and trade sites and industrial
work areas that have been demarcated in accor-
dante with the relevant health and safety legislation
of the country where it is used.
It should only be used for the excavation of chan-
nels (trenches) for drainage, installation of cables,
pipes or for the planting of plants, flowers or
shrubs, on soils of various structures and with va-
rious depths and widths for the different types of
excavation, in respect of the technical specifica-
tions provided.
The driving force is provided by a heat engine (10
Fig. 1) with which the machine is equipped, which
controls the two hydraulic motors to the Crawler
chains (12 Fig. 1) for forward and reverse move-
ments and a third hydraulic motor (13 Fig. 1),
which controls the rotation of the chains. The lowe-
ring and raising of the chain unit takes place by
means of a hydraulic piston (18 Fig. 1)
Excavation is performed by lowering of the chains
(1 Fig. 2) in rotation (4 Fig. 2) which are then inser-
ted into the ground at a predetermined depth.
The chains (15 Fig. 1) can be equipped with:
- Slotted chains;
- Mixed chains;
- Spiked chains.
The auger (14 Fig. 1) has the function of moving
the excavated material to the side so it does not
impede the digging operation.
All controls are located in the instrument panel of
the upper control board which enable the entire
operation of the machine.
A single authorised operator who meets the neces-
sary requirements may guide the machine stepby-
step.
WARNING
THE MACHINE MAY NOT BE OPERATED IN A
CLOSED OR POTENTIALLY EXPLOSIVE ENVI-
RONMENT OR IN AREAS AT RISK OF EXPLO-
