EXCAVATOR “A-TRACTION”
T E Z A
At this point the machine will operate in ba-
ckwards movement and will perform the excava-
tion.
- The steering of the machine takes place through
the actuation of the respective levers (4 and 5 Fig
7). These levers have automatic return and when
released return to the starting position; to steer to
the right lever 4 should be activated and to steer to
the left lever 5.
WARNING
Steering must be done with the chains comple-
tely above ground.
The speed of advance is due, in particular, by the
type of soil and the type of tools mounted in the
chain.
WARNING
If during operation, the chains should become
entangled in the ground, due to an unexpected
obstacle, it is necessary to disengage the chain
stopping movement and reversing the direction
of rotation by pushing the lever forward (6 Fig.
10) in order to resume the normal activities of
excavation.
4.4 SWITCHING OFF
To stop and shutdown the machine, it is necessary
to operate in the following way:
- Bring the lever to the central position (6 Fig. 7).
Chain movement is stopped with this manoeuvre.
- Using the lever (3 Fig. 7), lift the chain bringing it
above the ground.
- Slow down, by means of the lever (7 Fig. 7), brin-
ging the engine to minimum rpm.
- Leave the grip on the safety lever and engine shut
down (1 Fig 7). The engine will stop.
- Rotate the switch (10 Fig 7) to the «OFF» position.
WARNING
With the engine switched off, the machine will
remain suspended in the position in which it is
located so it is therefore advisable to switch off
the engine after having placed the machine in
position so as to reach the engine’s self-
winding

knob more easily and have sufficient space a-
vailable to be able to restart when necessary.
4.4.1 EMERGENCY STOP
WARNING
If any source of danger is encountered, the ma-
chine can be stopped by releasing the red lever
(1 Fig. 7). Restart the machine, by following the
procedures described in section “4.2 Starting”
once dangerous situations have been resolved.
4.5 CHAIN TOOLS
Chains can be supplied with three different tool
types.
CHAIN WITH SLOTTED HOLE TOOLS
Slotted hole tools are obtained by the hot forging of
steel with a high carbon content and subsequently
heat-treated to enhance the qualities of toughness
and strength of the metal.
The wear-resistant surface treatment guarantees a
long service life, even on highly abrasive terrains.
They are ideal for soft ground, even grass. They
guarantee optimum productivity and remarkable
integrity of the excavation.
MIXED TOOL CHAINS
These combine the features of slots and the deter-
mination of the peaks. They are ideal on mixed ter-
rain. They guarantee good productivity on uneven
terrain.
