The
installation
procedure
is
written
on
the
basis
that
the
battery
pack
for
this
AMX-I!
has
been
previously
charged
and
electroiyte
level
adjusted
at
a
GE
District
Office
or
other
suitable
facility.
The
charged
bat-
tery
is
then
to
be
transported
to
the
installation
site
of
the
AMX-II
in
the
recommended
shipping
container.
If
these
pre-requisite
steps
have
not
been
taken,
the
battery
must
be
initially
charged
using
the
charger
in
the
AMX-11
unit.
Follow
the
procedure
given
in
Chapter
3,
Section
6,
“Battery”.
This
should
be
done
just
prior
to
Section
4
Installing
the
Battery”
of
Chapter
4,
Part
Il.
A
All
battery
information
contained
in
this
manual
refers
both
to
G.E.
and
Marathon
NiCad
cells.
