Why does my GE JB735 oven will not self-clean?
    • J
      Jennifer AcevedoSep 22, 2025
If your GE Ranges oven will not self-clean, it may be because the temperature is too high to set a self-clean operation. Allow the oven to cool and reset the controls. Also, make sure the oven controls are properly set. See the Cleaning the Oven section.

How to fix a GE Ranges storage drawer that won't close?
    • D
      Diane LoganSep 22, 2025
The power cord may be obstructing the drawer in the lower back of the range, so reposition the drawer and power cord. The rear drawer support may be on top of the guide rail, so reposition the drawer. The soft close mechanism may be uncoupled from the drawer, so reset the mechanism.

How to fix a crooked oven door on GE Ranges?
    • K
      Kristopher JohnsonSep 22, 2025
Because the oven door is removable, it sometimes gets out of position during installation. To straighten the door, re-install the door.

Why does my GE JB735 make a “crackling” or “popping” sound?
    • L
      Lindsey BlakeSep 23, 2025
This is the sound of the metal heating and cooling during both the cooking and cleaning functions, and it is normal.

    Angela LewisSep 23, 2025
Why does my GE Ranges DOOR LOCK flashes in the display?
    • M
      Matthew FergusonSep 23, 2025
The DOOR LOCK flashes in the display of your GE Ranges because the self-clean cycle has been selected, but the door is not closed. Close the oven door.

    • D

Why do I see scratches on my GE JB735 cooktop glass surface?
    • S
      Shannon MckaySep 23, 2025
Scratches on your GE Ranges cooktop glass surface are often due to incorrect cleaning methods, the use of cookware with rough bottoms, or coarse particles between the cookware and the surface. Scratches are not removable, but tiny scratches will become less visible over time with cleaning. To prevent scratches, use recommended cleaning procedures and ensure cookware bottoms are clean and smooth.

Why are there areas of discoloration on my GE Ranges cooktop?
    • J
      jose53Sep 23, 2025
Areas of discoloration on your GE Ranges cooktop can be caused by food spillovers not cleaned before the next use. See the Cleaning the glass cooktop section. It can also be caused by a hot surface on a model with a light-colored cooktop, which is normal. The surface may appear discolored when it is hot, but this is temporary and will disappear as the glass cools.

Why do I hear fan noise on my GE JB735?
    • L
      Luis RobertsSep 23, 2025
The fan noise you hear on some GE Ranges models is normal. A convection fan may turn on and off automatically to maximize cooking evenness and operates during preheat of the bake cycle, turning off after the oven reaches the set temperature. Additionally, a cooling fan may also turn on and off to cool internal parts, even after the oven is turned off.

What to do after a power outage with GE Ranges?
    • A
      Anthony HernandezSep 23, 2025
After a power outage or surge, the clock on your GE Ranges will flash. Reset the clock. If the oven was in use, you must reset it by pressing the Cancel/Off pad, setting the clock, and resetting any cooking function.
