Why does my GE Ranges sometimes take longer to preheat?
    • X
      xcooleySep 12, 2025
If your GE Ranges sometimes takes longer to preheat to the same temperature, it could be due to cookware or food in the oven. Remove items to reduce preheat time. Also, adding more racks to the oven will cause the oven to take longer to preheat. Remove some racks. The different cooking modes use different preheat methods to heat the oven for the specific cooking mode and some modes will take longer than others (i.e. convection bake).

If you experience a power outage and the clock flashes on your GE Ranges, it is due to the power outage or surge. Reset the clock. If the oven was in use, you must reset it by pressing the Cancel/Off pad, setting the clock, and resetting any cooking function.

    • K
      Kimberly DavisSep 12, 2025
If you are unable to get the display to show “OFFSET” on your GE Ranges, it's likely that the oven control pads were not touched properly. The BROIL HI/LO and BAKE pads must be touched at the same time and held for 3 seconds.

      christinacordovaSep 12, 2025
If the oven racks are difficult to slide in your GE Ranges, and the shiny, silver-colored racks were cleaned in a self-clean cycle, apply a small amount of vegetable oil to a paper towel and wipe the edges of the oven racks with the paper towel. Do not spray with Pam® or other lubricant sprays.

Why doesn't the drawer slide smoothly on my GE Ranges?
    • M
      Mathew HowardSep 12, 2025
If the drawer on your GE Ranges does not slide smoothly or drags, it could be out of alignment. Fully extend the drawer and push it all the way in See the Care and cleaning of the range section. The drawer may also be overloaded or the load is unbalanced. Reduce weight and redistribute drawer contents.
