OPERATING THE SELF-CLEANING OVEN

How to Set the Oven for Cleaning
Quick Reminder:
1.
Latch the oven door.
2. Press the AUTO SELF
CL.EAN
pad.
3. Press the INCREASE
or
DECREASE
pad
until the desired Clean Time appears.
If the oven
is
too hot and yoLl start
to
set a
clean
cycle,
the word “OFF” will appear in the
display.
Allow additional time
for
cooling
before
jou
try
to
set the cycle.
1. Follow the directions to prepare the

2. Close
the oven door and
slide the latch handle to the
right
as far as it will
go.

Never force the door latch
handle. Forcing the handle

may damage the door lock
mechanism.

3. Press the AUTO SELF CLEAN pad.

the desired Clean Time
Clean Time is normally 3 hours. You can change
the Clean Time to anytime between 2 and
4
hours,
depending on the amount of soil in your oven.
The self-clean cycle will automatically begin after
“CLEAN” is displayed and the time for the Clean
Cycle
is set. The words “ON” and “LOCK”’ will
a~pear in the display. It will not be possible to unlatch
the oven door until the temperature drops below the
lock temperature and the LOCK
light
goes off.
5. When the LOCK
light
is off. slide the latch handle
to the left. If you

unlock the

for cooling.
NOTE: The word “door”

be displayed,

When the clean cycle is finished. the word “CLEAN”

locking temperature. the word
“LOCK.. goes out and
the door can
be
opened.
Slide the latch handle to
the left as far as it
wiIl

and open the door.
Never force the latch

handle. The latch
slides
easily. Forcing the latch handle
may
damage
the door
lock.
You may notice some white ash in the oven.
Just wipe it up with
a
damp cloth after the oven cools.
If white spots remain, remove them with a
soap-
filled steel wool pad. Be sure to rinse thoroughly with
a vinegar and water mixture. These deposits are
usually
a
salt residue that cannot be removed by the
clean
cycle.
If the oven is not clean after one clean cycle,
repeat the cycle.
if the shelves have become hard to slide, wipe the
shelf supports with cooking oil.
To Stop a Clean Cycle
1. Press the CLEAR/OFF pad.
