Be sure you turn the control knob
to Off when you finish cooking.
How to Set
Pushthe knob in and turn in either direction
to the settingyou want.
At both Off and Hi the control clicks into
position.You may hear slight clicking sounds
during cooking, indicating the control is
keepingthe power levelyou set.
Indicator Lights (onradiant glassmodels only)
A HOTSURFACEor HOTCOOKTOP(depending on
model) indicator light will glow when any radiant
element ishot and will remain on (evenafter the
unit isturned off)until the surface is cooled to
approximately 150°F.
A SURFACEUNITon or BURNERON (depending
on model)indicator lightwill glow when any
surface unit ison.
NOTE:TheSURFACEUNITor BURNERON
indicator light may glow between the surface
control settings of Lo and Off, but there is no
power to the surface units.

Thefront surface units have 2 cooking sizes
(6" and 9") to select from so you can match
the size of the unit to the size of the cookware
you are using.
To use the small surface unit, turn the
control knob counterclockwise to the SMALL
BURNERsettings.
To use the large surface unit, turn the control
knob clockwise to the LARGEBURNER
settings.

Using the Warming Zone
(onsomemodels)

Always start with hot food. Do not use warm
setting to heat coldfood.
Donot usewarm setting for more than 2
hours.
Failureto follow these instructions may result in
foodbome illness.
TheWARMINGZONE,located in the back center
of the gldss surface,will keep hot,cooked food
dt servingtemperdture. Always stdrt with hot
food. Do not useto heat cold food. Placing
uncookedor cold food on the WARMINGZONE
could result in foodborne illness.
Pushand turn the control knob to any desired
setting.
Forbest results,all foods on the WARMING
ZONEshould be covered with u lid or aluminum
foil.When warming pastries or breads,the
cover should be vented to allow moisture to
escape.
Usethe lowest setting for breads and pastries.
Usea medium setting for vegetables, sauces,
stews,cream soups,butter and chocolate. Use
the highest setting for soups (liquid)and hot
beverages.Theseinitial suggested settings are
for reference only.Thetemperature, type and
amount of food, type of pan, and the time held
will affect the quality of the food.
Always usepot holders or oven mitts when
removing food from the WARMINGZONE,
since cookware and plates will be hot.
NOTE:Thesurfacewarmer will not glow red like
the cooking elements.
