2.6 The Mechanical Reference Plane, MRP
Description The Mechanical Reference Plane:
• is where the instrument heights are measured to.
• is where the phase centre variations refer to.
• varies for different instruments.
MRP for instrument The MRP for the instrument is shown in the diagram.
The arrow with the line shown on the outside of yellow rubber ring does not refer to the MRP and
can be ignored for this purpose.
